Aries Season

April 2026

You have been here before.

Not here, exactly -

but at the edge of something

that required you

to become someone

you didn’t yet know how to be.

You have stood in the ruins

of a self that no longer worked

and had to decide,

without a map,

without a guide,

without any guarantee -

to begin.

That was Aries.

That is Aries.

Not just the warriors

and the fire-starters,

the ones who were born

running toward the thing

everyone else ran from -

but every human being

who has ever had to

shed a self

to survive.

The first breath you took was an Aries act.

You didn’t choose it. You didn’t prepare for it.

One moment you were held

in the only world you knew -

and then you weren’t.

And something in you -

before thought, before language,

before any story you would later tell

about who you were -

insisted.

That insistence is the truest name for Aries fire.

Not courage, exactly. Not ambition.

The irreducible fact of a life that will not

be talked out of itself.

We are asked to individuate more than once.

The first no we meant.

The belonging we gave up

to become more honestly ourselves.

The illness that dismantled the self we’d built

so carefully

and left us holding the pieces,

having to learn

what was underneath.

The future we’d been quietly constructing

that came apart

on an ordinary day.

Every one of these was an initiation.

Every one asked the same question:

Who are you

when you are no longer

who you were?

The answer never comes from thinking.

It comes from the body -

and Aries knows it.

The stomach that tightens

in rooms that are wrong for you.

The exhaustion that isn’t tiredness,

but the slow leak

of living at a slight angle

to yourself.

Your body has always known

the difference

between a life that fits,

and one you wear for someone else’s comfort.

Between aliveness

and the very convincing

management of its absence.

Aries is the return to that knowing.

Not past the mind,

but before it.

Back to the animal intelligence

that doesn’t need to justify itself,

that recognised the wrong room

the moment you walked in.

Politeness has its place.

Refinement has its place.

But some moments in a life

don’t need more weighing.

They need ignition.

They need the body to remember

what it was actually built for:

the impolite iridescence

of existing

without apology.

Wood doesn’t ignite from gentleness.

It needs friction.

Bones don’t strengthen from rest.

They strengthen from the weight

they’re asked to carry

until carrying becomes their nature.

The resistance was never the enemy.

You knew that.

Somewhere beneath the exhaustion of it,

beneath the years of it,

you always knew.

It was the making of you.

Not everyone who carries this archetype

was born wanting the fire.

Some didn’t choose the initiation.

The initiation chose them.

And there is a particular kind of person -

you may know them, you may be them -

who became brave not because bravery

came naturally,

but because the moment arrived

and there was no one else to be brave in it.

If that is you,

this season belongs to you as fully as it belongs

to those who were born already burning.

Maybe more.

Aries at its most lost

is pure motion -

brilliant, electric,

going nowhere.

Aries at its most luminous

doesn’t look back.

It just needs this moment,

this direction,

this one true thing

it is willing to move toward.

The first breath didn’t require a history.

Neither does the pure combustion

of now.

Spring doesn’t negotiate with frozen ground.

It doesn’t wait for winter’s damage

to be fully accounted for.

It simply starts.

Underneath.

Way before you see it.

Way before it’s certain.

Something is beginning again now.

It has been beginning longer than you know -

underneath everything you have been managing,

maintaining,

holding together with such extraordinary,

unremarked upon

devotion.

It has your name.

It has the particular shape

of what you keep returning to

when you forget

to be sensible about yourself.

Stop calling it impossible.

Start calling it next.

You have never been ready.

Not for any of the things

that made you

who you are.

You became ready

by beginning.

Begin.
